This site answers one question - is it VFR right now at this airport? - with a yes or no only when the report is fresh (otherwise an unknown status), plus the actual flight category, the observation time, and the raw METAR.

The answer comes from the latest METAR observation in the free NOAA Aviation Weather Center Data API. The feed's own flight category (VFR, MVFR, IFR, or LIFR) is used as-is. Airport names, cities, and locations come from OurAirports, a public-domain airport database. The site covers US airports with regular METAR reporting: the large airline fields plus hundreds of busy general aviation and business airports.

How the plumbing works: the site is plain static files. An automated job downloads the aviationweather.gov bulk METAR cache about every 15 minutes and republishes the site, so answers can lag behind the real world. Each page shows the observation time and its age. It withholds a yes or no if an observation exceeds 90 minutes or the feed exceeds 45 minutes; even a fresh report can lag changing conditions.

What this site is not: it is not a weather briefing, and it is not for flight planning. It shows one observation at one airport - no forecasts, no TFRs, no airspace, no notams. Always get an official briefing through aviationweather.gov, 1800wxbrief.com, or Flight Service before any flight.
